Hi All,
I fulfill the requirements of AC 21 (485 pending for more then 2 years and I 140 approved long back)
My current project is not my employer's client. There is one middle vendor from which I have got this project.
Now, I have heard that many consulting companies make you sign a contract which states that any client you find becomes their client and therefore forbidding you to join them directly. As we usually dont see papers while signing I am not sure if I did sign any such thing. My question is, if my employer sues me on this clause, does it hamper my I-485 processing? Any input in this context would be highly appreciated.Tension is killing me

Ok for a long time I have been thinking about getting enrolled in a Phd program and this year I was hoping I get a chance to chase my dream after having the GC... well it did not work the way I thought/planed and now I want to weigh my options.

So my questions is:
Is there a way I can join a univ as full time research student?
Can I take a leave of absense (ofcourse w/o pay) from my current job to join as a student?
If anyone knows anything about this kind of situation I would really appreciate your help.

started as an intern with local in the month of march 06 and I was given offer till end of august. but my school official gave me work permit on a semester basis and gave it only for srping 06, which end in may 15th. I couldn't update my CPT status for 1 day for summer 06 and started on 16th may, so the school official has said that i am out of status.Since re-instatement is not possible from school as it was unauthorized work permit. They have advised me to go to home country and attend visa to be eligible for reinstatement. I have grauduated last month with masters of science..
They said they will provide me recommendation letter for me to show to consular officer. Also, I have an MBA admit in same university for spring 2007.
so should i come to new program..if thats the case how to get an emergency appoitment.

I need feedback from you guys. I have researched this lawyer before I got her to start my greencard and the feedbacks seems that she is efficient and knowledgeable. However, since we signed the contract with her, things have been moving so slow. She doesn't want to talk to me or give me status updates when asked. She has all the information needed from me and my employer to start the prevailing wage request but a month has passes and nothing has been requested yet. Has anybody here experience the same thing?

your father can apply for visitor visa, but there are no guarnatees she will be approved. Even if he is approved and comes to the USA, applying for adjustment of status would be a mistake (entering as tourist while in fact intending to immigrate) and could lead to permanent bar. If he applys and is approved, she can come to visit and return to home country thats the better option.

You need a visa to enter Canada that can be applied from any Canadian Consulate in the US. Indian nationals in the US without Permanent Residency/Green Card are required to have a valid visa to enter Canada irrespective of their status in the US.

If i get you right, what you are asking is H1 to F1 conversion, why it is not possible ?
It is possible provided if one is maintaining his or her H1 status, till requesting to convert to F1.

No, you don't. I had a stopover in London on my way back to India. I had a 6 month valid visitor visa of UK and didn't need any transit visa.
