You should discuss the risks involved in concurrent filing with your lawyer too. In some circumstances if I140 is likely to face hurdles, you should wait for your I140 approval. This is just a caution. Each case is different.

I just registered for IV. I wish I could come to DC rally on 18th. But due to certain unavoidable circumstances I may not be able too. Though not an excuse But I feel very guilty about it and this guilt will always remain there that I was not part of rally on 18th. I do not get it either. They seem to have this very complex formula to determine where to move the cutoff dates or they simply roll a dice. Is there no transperancy. Sometimes I figure I should just not be bothered. It is black box!!. But I can really not do that!. Atleast we are participating actively in the call campaigns. But is that all we can do?

I have been wanting to post this for the last few days and was happy to read this thread.........can we do something like an Immigrant's Boycott Day or something where we should do a mass boycott all over the country.....we need to coordinate this across the entire country and do a gandhi style protest.....but we need atleast maybe 1000 people per city to do it.....I am not sure how difficult it is to get that many people.....but that seems to be the only way to create an Impact.......WE HAVE TO MAKE OUR EMPLOYERS FEEL THE IMPACT OF NOT HAVING US FOREIGN WORKERS.....THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS EXPLOITATION........its like when all the mexican farmers stopped working on the strawberry farms.....there were no strawberries in the market....I am in the Detroit, MI area.... we need to come up with a list of big cities where we can get 1000 people per city.

Ok I will sound negative....but I find this funny that we are not able to make up numbers in state chapters and talking about mass boycott. Guys to make these ideas work, we need to have a strong network to execute. Members on the ground ...have we achieved this , no ...Gandhi had millions of followers to acheive what he acheived , he didn't do it alone..... are u a Gandhi even for your state ?

I welcome your stickiness. This idea is not new to the forum. Go and search the threads. We have an active agenda of sending the faxes, writing LTEs, follwoing up senators and their offices after discussions, writing to news anchors, talking heads etc.

We need more ideas and more action as we go along.

I had started a healthcare thread previously and it got poor response. Eventually we created an iv-physicians chapter to track our issues and work with the core team on the overall goals of ending retrogression.
There are a number of efforts on to help Schedule A applicants, some of these are parts of more comprehensive efforts like Cornyn's recent amendment.
I suggest you organize the Schedule A folks into a group. IV is very happy to work with any group that takes responsibility for their own needs.

If you do form a group, try to expand it by bringing members in from outside iv as well- this would also expand iv's membership base.
I will be happy to help you with anything you need based on our experience with iv-physicians so far.

I feel like giving up today after I saw a friend of mine leaving to india with a US Citizenship and an overseas citizen of india card.
The irony is he applied two months after me in the same category except his application was from a different state.
Now it makes me think, if I have to go through this process and after 5 years if I end up like my friend, then I might as well do it now...:confused:

If yes! How come china status is not indicated explicitily as is indicated in travel.state.gov?
Does any one have previous month cut off date from this site ?
