Thank you very much for your excellent coverage of this issue. Tens of thousands of legal immigrants were affected by this decision, and at least hundreds of dollars wasted by every applicant. The loss of opportunity because of this abrupt door-shutting act is of course much more, but we demand that at least these monetary damages are taken note of, and paid for. Ideally, the government agencies that slammed the door on us should accept our applications, and thereby keep the promise they made to us on June 13, 2007.

How does that work? There is no law or process to connect an abandoned labor. I had approved labor with a PD of 1999 that got lost when I switched companies. But no one seems to be connecting that to me.
Its not a rumor. This is real. Coming to think abt it, he had filed a labor in 2000/2001 time period and had abandoned it when he switched companies. I am wondering if USCIS takes the oldest one an applicant had ever filed.

Forget about LIFO or FIFO, this year EB2 won't be getting enough visa's from spill-over. They would be giving majority of spill-over to EB3-ROW/I/C and EB2 would be getting very small fraction. And how's that is possible for that they would play around the law ( by making EB2 current).

It is not even considered yet and I don't think it will ever be considered. That amendment includes not only schedule A but also others and with proposal to increase the number as well.

Yes I think so too. specially I am EB3 India Dec 06, who know I will be current next July-Aug-Sept. hopefully this is the last EAD renewal (valid Sept until 2012)

No, it does not even do that. it does not let FOIA donors logon too.
First, the whole concept of donor based organisation is so stupid.
I mean really stupid.
If the donor based thing is ON, the future of IV is not good.
Yeah, IV does good work by talking to people all around, from different stratas of lawmaking and what not.
but get real, look around guys, information is everywhere, not only here. and you are working for the greater good of the community, only donors are not going to be benefitting from this.
Instead of making donor based posts, have a FOIA kinda drive every now and then.

Please stick to $5. The idea is to shake out members who till date have made no contributions into making contributions.
If we start contributing different amounts on this thread then this may dilute the impact of the idea.

Both me and My wife were really impressed by the excellent work IV has done and achieved. I have made a contribution (albeit small) in the past, and will very much like to sign up for recurring contributions. We pledge to contribute $50 monthly as soon as my Wife gets her EAD. We were intending to signup for $20/month right away, to upgrade to $50/month on getting her EAD but I do not see that option anymore.
Anyways, my pledge still stands effective on the day we receive my wife's EAD.

How do you guys get this daily update.. going by this, it will take them 2 months just to clear first 2 days of july - even after assuming all receipts issued are for I-485 cases, which is far from truth!

have no hope of getting GC in the next 2 yrs, so we decided to put in our applications for Canada. Took us some time to assemble all the documents, but God willing we will mail the package out next week.

Very good news.. Keep it up.. I have done my share of calling/writing to the Representatives...
I just spoke with an Immigration Representative of my Senator. She knows me as I met her last year with my employer for my other issue.
She just informed me that we are (Not only we but whole Congress) shocked with un-precedent action of DOS/USCIS for July VB. Senator's Washington DC office is working on this issue including immediate legislative relief to Employment Based immigration. She is well aware of whole drama of July VB. I am going to call Washington DC Office as well.
I encourage every one call to their Senator and HR and speak with Immigration Representative. I think first time media and lawmakers have acknowledged the problem of Employment Based Immigration.
